Default Castle 100 ICE ESC and 2842 3200KV MB1 settings

I am new to this EDF stuff and need some help

I have just bought a SAPAC Viper with the MB1 motor and Castle 100 ICE ESC with Castle link.
I will use 5 cell 3600mAh lipo.
The question is what setting should I read in the Castle link page?
What timing? When I push Read setting button it stand "Custom 20" is that correct?

If other settings need to be changed please advice.

Hi,

I'm not sure what the "Custom 20" means.

For EDF use on a CC ICE 100 ESC when using an inrunner motor, set the PWM setting from the default of "Outrunner" to 12KHz and the timing to either Low or Normal. The Normal setting will provide a bit more power at the expense of motor heat so select this when a quality motor is used. Select Low for lower quality motors.

Good luck!

Hi Greg

Thanks for answer.
When I checked the spec on this motor [link]http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=12322[/link] it says that motor timing is between 20-25 deg. I don't know if that may be the "Custom 20" setting?

I think I will use low timing for a start for safety
