SR 71
Hi, I am a newbie to the RC world. My friend took me with his jet awhile back, and I thought it was the coolest thing to see. I went to my local hobby store "Warricks Hobbies", and was chased away by the EXPENSIVEprices.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...msn/crying.gif
One thing they were really pushing was the gas powered airplanes. A couple reasons why I DONOTwant a gas powered is: One, I live an hour and a half away from the closest flying field. Two, Iknow you can convert glow engines to normal gas, but seems too much of a hassle. Three, GASPLANES ARETRIPLE as expensive of electric. I really want to start flying electric jets, and my favorite is the SR71, but I cannot seem to find one. Just wondering if anyone has any reccomendations for me regarding jets, or supplies/prices? Thanks! P.S. : I actually found a SR71 by itself here: http://www.nitroplanes.com/78a71-sr7...ProductReviews |
RE: SR 71
You will never learn to fly with a SR-71 I suggest you buy a trainer and look for some one that will teach you to fly RC

290.6 inches 24' wingspan :)
obvious typo on their website. 1/2 way down the page, picture shows 290.6" wingspan |
RE: SR 71
So what are some examples of a good trainer plane or jet?

RE: SR 71
A good trainer is a high wing .40 engine glo or electric 56 inches wing span, tricicle landing gear, 4 chanel radio, and a good instructor.

RE: SR 71
Most of my electric only students like the Apprentice 15E from horizon. Its a pretty decent plane as trainers go. Another would be an Alpha electric trainer. Its on the horizon web site also. I dont have any experience with that one yet.
Edwin I should have mentioned also, that it would be good to find an instructor. I've seen several people do good at flying with nothing more than simulator time (about 40 hours or so), but they still needed help on landing. |
