RE: AeroCat Fast Pusher *70 MPH*
ORIGINAL: HeliTB Scott...I had the same problem just happen to me with a magnet coming loose. I opened the motor and tried to reglue it but could get the stator, if it's called that back in and spinning freely. I removed the magnet completely and reassembled the motor and it seems to turn by hand like it did when I first turned it. Magnet force seems to be good. My question: Do you think will it affect the performance of the motor with one magnet removed? Scott www.ModelAero.com |

RE: AeroCat Fast Pusher *70 MPH*
scott i have aerocat v2 can you help w/ motor size, esc, prop size for speed 2100ma 11.1v or 1200mah 11.1v thanks jim

RE: AeroCat Fast Pusher *70 MPH*
Use a SpinMax 2212-6 motor with a 30A ESC and 6x5.5 prop. Be sure to fly at 1/2 thtrottle for at least 45sec before landing to help cool the motor.

RE: AeroCat Fast Pusher *70 MPH*
Oh yeah, for the battery. I use a Thunder Power 2100mAh for all out speed because it can deliver the amps needed to produce some nice speed. I also use a the Thunder Power 1320mAh for mild to moderate speed with a Dualsky 2826 motor (1450kv @ 17A) using a 7x5 prop. The SpinMax 2212-6 motor puts out (2200kv @ 28A) using 6x5.5 prop, you can also use a 6x4 prop to reduce the amp draw to about 24A you'll lose a little speed. You can now see the need for different batteries. You have to be sure that the battery is capable of delivering the amps the motor is trying pull through the ESC, which is why you want a 30A ESC. I hope this further helps.

I've been flying my AeroCat with a Spin Max 2212-6, 30 amp ESC, 6/5.5 prop, and Dualsky 1800 3S battery. It doesn't get any better than that for me! Scott www.ModelAero.com |

Wow Wee, had our two aerosports and Bobcat flying tonight. Sooo much fun just harriering around in the wind. and nothing but fun going vertical forever, and just floating around on down to the ground.

RE: AeroCat Fast Pusher *70 MPH*
ckeene9...Great news. Tell us, now that you've flown both the AeroSport and AeroCat. Which is your favorite?
|
RE: AeroCat Fast Pusher *70 MPH*
Hard choice but gonna have to go with Cat. But can't really give it a fair comparison since I only flew the sport for a minute or two.

Had some of the pilots from work fly the Aerocat today at lunch and they love it! They had it flying a rolling circle even, w/o rudders!

RE: AeroCat Fast Pusher *70 MPH*
That's pretty good w/o rudder. I wish I could do it with rudders. I'll get there one day.

Christopher That's awesome, I would love to see some video of it!!! It does everything I need it to do without rudders. But there are those that want rudders, and the AeroCat can support the extra servo no problem. But I'd say 95% of them are built without rudder. Glad you are enjoying it. Scott www.ModelAero.com |
