My new SR-71 Just got dropped off byUPS man,

Shipping was great! IMO

I placed my order on Friday 28th of May 2010 at 10:06 (PM)
and I received a UPS ground shipment from CA. to Milwaukee, WI. On June 10th 2010

so let&rsquo;s say 11 days... now let&rsquo;s consider we had 2 weekends subtract 4 days and one of the weekends was Memorial Day weekend to let subtract another day, so 5 days total.

So 6 days to order and get my package, can't beat that.

I'll post more updatesand a youtube <span style="color: black; text-decoration: none; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; text-underline: none">video</span> of the box opening later

The best of luckhttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f.../sad_smile.gifYou may have read my issue with them....and I will try some other shop when I want a toy...to kick around. still have not gotten my battery that should have come with the F-15. I requested desert and got sky camo. The box was checked off as kit as I ordered an ARF.

retc, I have and regualrly fly a BH SR-71 since Dec 2008 when they came out. I am happy with mine and have had no issues, except for the wheels wearing our rapidly...;)

Hopefully, you do nothave a bum ESC or motor. The follwoing might fix your issue. It worked for me.

Your ESCs might not be in sync. I have had one that was very reluctant to start, until I did the following.

1. turn on TX first and set throttle to full.
2. Turn on the model.
3. The ESCs will beep, indicating that they have made a note of the max throttle setting.
4. Reduce throttle to idle.
5. The ESCs will beep again, making note of low throttle setting. This sets the overall throttle range on the ESCs. They should then count the cells, with three beeps.

Try running up the fans then and see what happens.

Still a chance it could be something as easy as a bad servo "Y" harness. I had a bad one in a HL B-25 (Erc) recently and throught I had a bad servo, when only the "Y" was bad.

RE: SR-71 BlackBird Review, on Banana Hobby - June 2010

<div>Hello all,</div><div></div><div>Here is another update</div><div>Today is Wednesday June 16, 2010 7:39am CST</div><div></div><div>I called Banana Hobby Yesterday, Tuesday June 15, 2010 at 15:17 CST</div><div></div><div>I was able to talk to a technical person that I was able to understand clearly.(Which is a nice way of saying he spoke English!)</div><div></div><div>I explained my problem and he told me that I can remove the access panels on the bottom with a hobby knife to check the wiring.</div><div></div><div>I told him that I was concerned about cutting them and then having Banana Hobby tell I don&rsquo;t have any warranty because I cut it open.He reinsured me that, that would not be the case.</div><div></div><div>I was able to place the call and go through the phone menus and talk with a technician with a total call time of 7 mins</div><div></div><div>That is very good in my book.</div><div></div><div>I started the surgery which was not easy at all.The panels where glued in very well!I was trying to be patient and do a very nice job. Man handling foam is never a good idea, I did get it apart, what emphasizes the bad looks of taking foam apart is that the original color of the foam is white and it is painted black. So anywhere I had to cut, which was everywhere, it looks kind of crappy maybe until I touch it up with flat black paint.</div><div></div><div>After getting it open I found the wires to be done correctly so I pulled the EDF&rsquo;s out and swapped them around, the bad one worked fine! So it looks like the ESC is bad from the factory. This took about 1 hour to do.</div><div></div><div>I then called back into Banana Hobby customer support at 16:18 CST, this time the call took much longer to talk to a technician about 25 mins.Which still is not bad at all.</div><div></div><div>I explained what I have found and he offered me a new ESC to be shipped out so that I can replace it.</div><div></div><div>I told him about the foam maybe not looking as good anymore after having to cut it open, I was put on hold for a few minutes and when he came back on he offered me a new fuselage because I have not glued anything together yet. I told him that we will go with the ESC and see how it looks after putting it back together for now; I was concerned that fuselage didn&rsquo;t sound like it was going to ship right away.</div><div>I was told that the ESC should ship Thursday or Friday of this week.</div><div></div><div>This call took 39mins total</div><div></div><div>I then not an Email from Sara (see below)</div><div></div><div>&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;<span>Dear Bob,</span></div><div></div><div>Thank you for your response. At this time I am showing that a parts request for a replacement ESC has been submitted, and once the replacement ESC is shipped we will email you with the tracking information for it.</div><div></div><div>Thank you,</div><div></div><div>Saralyn C.</div><div>Customer Service Representative</div><div></div><div>&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;</div><div></div><div>So we will see how the replacement ESC goes alone with how the plane looks after I put it back together.</div><div></div><div>If it does'nt look good I will request a new one,I don&rsquo;t see why I should have to do this on $300.00 plus plane that I purchased as RTF.</div><div></div><div>Until next post</div><div></div>Bob

Dear Bob,<div>
</div><div>If the mail man stated you owe him for postage and left you with a receipt of some sort for the package, please send a copy of it to me via email and I will see to it that you are reimbursed for that. <div>Hello All,</div><div></div><div>Update July 02, 2010 20:39 CST</div><div></div><div>I installed the ESC&rsquo;s today that I received as replacements from Banana Hobby, the installation went very well.I then tested the electronics again and both EDF&rsquo;s are now working!</div><div></div><div>I glued the plane together now and tested it in the grass and drivewayat my home and all went well also.</div><div></div><div>For those that have told me that this plane is way under powered, I will have to say that you are full of it!</div><div></div><div>I held the plane on it's rear end with it's nose pointed straight up in the air. I gave full throttle and it was able to pull itself straight up! That is not a sign of an under power plane.</div><div></div><div>Of course I videotaped the install of the ESC&rsquo;s, gluing and so on, so look for parts 3 and 4 of the review in a few days on youtube and links that I will posthere.</div><div></div><div>Thanks</div><div>Have a great 4th of July weekend</div><div></div><div>-bob</div><div></div>

thank you for all this information. I have been debating buying from BH for awhile now and have been scared too based on so many negative comments on RCU about them. But based on this very current review and experience with them, it seems like maybe they are cleaning up their act. I might just try them after all. by the way, do you have a video yet of your first flight?
