Default Automatic shut off for batteries?

I was wondering if there is a charging system for batteies that will shut off when they are charged or keep them charged? Sorta like a Battery tender?I have looked around here and I don't see anything?

Default RE: Automatic shut off for batteries?

Are you referring to lipo batteries? If so, all of the lipo chargers with which I am familiar will shut off when the battery is charged.

As for your other question, lipos really don'y need a "tender" because their self-discharge rate is very low. A lipo charged today will be ready to fly even a couple of weeks from now.

If you are going to be storing a lipo for many weeks or months without using it, the battery should be stored with a partial charge, perhaps 60% of a full charge.

This e-book should answer a lot of questions about electric powered flight including questions about batteries.  Hope you find it useful.

Some advocate storing batteries in the refrigerator when storing for long periods. (cold is usually good for batteries, as it slows chemical reactions)
