trying to soarstar!

Default trying to soarstar!

i have a soarstar that i'm repairing for the ? time. i let it sit for awhile and am now glued back together(tail straightened i hope !)anyhow,i need help with balance of said aircraft.balance point per plans appears to be wing strut mount(105-110mm from lead edge)ok! but with the 'incidence'? of wing to plane what should i be 'seeing'when i balance.i have had 'problems', i believe,with this on previouse' flights'!

Measure back from the center of the leading edge of the wing itself (or it's about 1/4 to 1/2 inch in front the hole in the center). Don't worry about the incidence- which, you're right, the leading edge is 20 cm higher than the trailing edge.

To get the CG right on this (or any other) plane, adjust the battery back and forth so the elevator is level.

However, lucky for you, the Soarstar's the elevator is glued flat on the boom, so just balance it so the boom is level.

Default thanks goofup!

i just finished checking out your advice to newbies -recommended reading in my opinion!thanks afriend recomended th 'star' as a fist electric plane i don't think the 'tiger was out then this was 2yr ago. and yes i like to' practice' in 'private' so i'm getting faster with epoxy all the time. i just purchased a gws zero so i decided i better 'break out' the 'star' and really learn to fly first may build '0' this winter after a fall of learning.anywho thanks for the help like your site on planes!

Thanks for the kind words! I just wanted to put in one place not only my advice based on my experinces, but all the advice and experinces of others from reading thousands and thousands of posts.

A lot of people have tons of fun bashing the Wingo and Soarstar because of the color, uglyness, and fragility. But I can't ever recall reading a post where they bashed how they fly! They're just great flying planes and once you get a handle on your Soarstar, learning your Zero will be a cinch.
