Brushless motor size???
Hey guys, i am looking at building a small blue foam yak 55. Not sure of the manufacture, but it is really cheap. What I am struggling with is how to determine the size of brushless motors. There doesn't seem to be any industry standard that I can see.
The motor that is suggested by the instructions that come with the plane is am e-flite park 300, among other high-dollar motors like scorpion, hacker etc. I really don't want to put a motor on this thing that costs 5 times the price of the plane! so I am looking for a cheaper alternative. Also, I need to know what esc. A 6 to 10a was suggested by someone who built one in our club.
3s 700mah battery.
Thanks, jeff

RE: Brushless motor size???
Here are a few budget 300 sized motors that should not break the bank.

RE: Brushless motor size???
You'd need at least a 10A ESC for any of those 300 motors on 3s..... and at least 20A for the 370's.
Here is a tried and true equivalent to an E-flite 300 (24g, 1380Kv)........
