Default What Are The Top Rated LiPos?

I just got my first electric plane. It came with an E-flite 5S 30C 18.5V LiPo. I want to buy another battery pack, but am uncertain about which brands are rated the best. I'd like to hear from some RC fliers with electric flight experience.

The "best" are probably Thunder Power but they certainly aren't the least expensive.

Question: Are the E-flite LiPos one of the popular brands? Is there any general consensus on them?

E-flite is a great brand with great support. I would have no problem flying their battery packs.

Buying a few sets of quality batteries will pay for itself through years of good use with minimal loss in power. The cheaper batteries might last a few years but power will diminish; they will get soft and hot.

If you want cheaper batteries, GensAce from Hobbypartz.com are among the best of the cheap batteries. Rhino from hobbyking are pretty good as well, but you're not guaranteed they will all work. But at 1/5 the cost of a Thunderpower, one can afford a bad pack here and there (I never got a bad battery, but I guess some out there have).

Thanks Joe. You have helped me decide. I'm going with e-flite.
