Default Motor recommendations for hob warbirds

My brother and I are building a couple of HOB warbirds and need a suggestion for a powerful elec. motor. The wingspans are 36 inches with weights of around 28 ounces. The glow recommendation for these birds is .049 to .09 I have a couple of extra 25 amp ESC's which I would like to use. I have had luck in the past with Turnigy motors from Hobbyking. Any suggestions would be appreciated. They do not have to be Turnigy or HK necessarily, but, affordable. Thanks.

.049 weighs around 50g, .09 maybe 80-100g... there are lots of electric possibilities which will get you more power at less weight... but let's start with 50-60g, spinning perhaps a 6" prop (EMP 6x5 is a good one).

I cannot accept the idiotic 340W, but with a 6x5 on 3s you would be around 20-25A and it should survive that in short bursts.

28 ounces is 1.75 Pounds. So you want something in the 175 to 250 watt range. You can always stack in more but that is the range I would consider for plenty of power.

Using the electrify calculator we can see what they would recommend in an Rimfire out runner.

I set the max prop to 10 inches. You could go larger if you like

I will set battery at 3S
