Default Confused about correct ESC to Motor connection...

I'm building a SIG Kadet senior from the kit for my first plane and I'm making it electric. I have an eRC ESC and motor (motor is eRC .40 size and the ESC is a 65A) and I need help to ensure I connect them correctly. Three wires coming out of the motor are color coded- black, red, and blue- but the three plugs from the ESC are not color coded. There is a "-" sign on the body of the ESC next to one of the wires, but that's it.

I think the correct connection is motor black wire to the ESC plug with the "-". Motor red wire to the "top" ESC plug (matches the red "+" on the OTHER side of the ESC). And motor blue wire to the middle ESC plug. A pic is below.

Thanks for any advice.

Brushless motors run on AC not DC so there is no +,-. The three motor wires can connect to the three esc wires in any order. After you power-up and notice the motor running backwards you can simply swap two of the three connections to reverse the rotation. If the motor rotates correctly then leave the connections as-is.

Take a look through this when you can:
