Default Need Help

Can anyone direct me to a good trainer, that I will eventually be able to do aerobatics on, and that I can use my radio on? It would be nice if it was cheap and doesn't involve much construction.

Check this out: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Good...1266418/tm.htm

You might want to rethink your requirement that your first plane allow you to move on to aerobatics, especially if you're trying to go it alone. A plane suitable for aerobatics is going to be far too responsive and neutrally stable for someone who has not yet developed the proper reflexes for flying airplanes. A plane that is less responsive and more positively stable (i.e. it tries to right itself when you let go of the sticks) is much more suitable.

Easy Star can and it'll handle much more wind than a Slow Stik (bounces better too)

I would go with a Slow Stick if I was you. I'm trying to teach myself and I'm glad I went with the SS. I can actually keep it in the air now and getting better at controling the plane. You want something pretty forgiving if your just learning to fly. Like Matt said you need a plane that will try to correct itself if you let go of the sticks. That way if you get in a bind you can just let go of the sticks and the ol' SS will straighten right up. Plus for only $35 dollars you can't go wrong. Actually I just purchased a new kit from my LHS and it was only $32. Good luck with whatever plane you go with.

Mikerjf,

You seem pretty knowledgable about the Easy Star. Would you mind doing a short write-up similar to what you see in the top thread in this forum? I'd love to include the plane, but I have no experience with it.

Mastermind;

No problem, it's your choice to make. Easy Star's new from Multiplex, nobody in here's seen one much less flown it and Multiplex doesn't spend a fortune on advertising over here. On the other hand I've flown most of the stuff being posted here or something similar and am familiar with their characteristics. No mater what you go with, good luck, and most importantly have fun.

Matt;

Sent you a PM, let me know.

Mike

PS Mastermind, sent you a PM, there are a "few" other people recommending the Easy Star
