Default 270mA NiMh to small for Slow Stick?

I have a 270 mA 7 2/3 AAA cell NiMh that keeps cutting out on me. Is it not capable of enough current output for the slow stick? It flies fine on the 400 mA 6 cell NiCd. Will 7 cell NiMh KAN 650 packs be ok on this? What about 6 cell KAN 650's? I read somewhere to go up a cell with the NiMH over the NiCd's.

Yes, the 270mAh pack is too small to provide enough current to the motor.

KAN650 cells are ideal for a plane like the Slow Stick. If you really want some power, try 8 cells.

Yep, the 720mAh "AAA" NiMH packs are about the bare minimum you would want to run an EPS300C/EPS350C motor on one of these GWS birds. They do get the job done.

However, the new 650mAh "2/3AA" NiMH cells from KAN and CheapBatteryPacks.com are a significant improvement. Even though the pack has 70mAh less capacity, it releases its energy more efficiently so you get better top end power and at least as much run time. They're inexpensive too!
