Default electric high wing trainer w/ailerons any suggestions?

i am looking for a trianer plane with ailerons.
i currently have built an electric P-51 mustang from house of balasa and nervous on maiden flight being that i have never flown anything other than my aerobird.so i am looking for a trianer in electric but at the same time do not want to spend alot like $200 target area.
can anyone give me any suggestions on either a plane or help on flying my Mustang so that i do not turn it into a pile of toothpics.
Thanks!!

I have a Mountain Models Magpie with both the slowfly and sports wing. Either wing is very easy to fly. Good luck.

I would say go with the Magpie with both wings also. I have one and I have the Aerobird Challenger. If I had known about the Magpie I could have saved myself a $150 bucks

I totally agree that the Magpie is a great plane. Learn on the slow fly wing and then put the sport wing with ailerons on for some real fun. It's a durable plane that you can constantly upgrade. And the Mountain Model's folks are super at customer service.

Yes, the Magpie is a great plane. The slow fly wing is a great fist plane wing, but if you want the Aileron trainer, then you get the sport wing. I definately recommed this plane!

Magpie - Easy to build Foam kit - also listed above
Has trainer wing AND an available sport wing
Master the first, then advance to the second.

definitely go with the MM Magpie. This is the plane that finally made me feel like I'd be able to fly.

The Magpie rocks.

Ray out.

I'm having trouble finding the Magpie here in the UK. How does the GWS Tiger Moth 400 compare to the E-Starter? It seems to be a little more stable in the video clips I've seen?

My limited experience:

I maidened my EStarter last weekend and have seen another pilot fly his TM 400. The Estarter is faster but the TM seems more acrobatic. I did my maiden in less then ideal conditions and found it to be fairly stable compared to what I'm used to.

The TM looks great in the air though!

Tiger Moth 400 Is a very honest plane if you don't go overboard with the throws. I'm teaching a fellow with one. He has an E Starter but feels more comfortable with the TM 400 as it will fly slower with It's larger wing area. I use it for fun aerobatics when I crank the throws up. Will fly in a decent wind too.
