Default What do I tell him ?

I personally fly giant scale aircraft.

A fellow worker handed me a flyer from Hobby People with
a cute little electric plane from WATTAGE.

It's called A WATT-AGE Micro-Flyer R/C plane . It has a 9 inch WS

I don't have a clue when it comes to this stuff. What do I tell him.

Thanks for any help

Regards
Roby

I, personally, would thank him for the plane, although I may be unfamiliar with that airplane. Are you interested in flying the electric? If so, find someone in your club who is knowledgable about electrics. If you don't belong to a club, the electrics are really no different other than they are powered with an electric motor. If it is a 4-channel radio system with it, it's not much different than flying the big planes. If you are not interested in flying, maybe you could sell it, or you could tell the co-worker that it is not the type of airplane that you fly, but this might offend the person.
Just one hint, the smaller electric airplanes will help your larger scale flying. Goodluck.

Why is he showing you the flyer, for him or for you?

If he's interested in learning about RC airplanes, I'd steer him in another direction. If you've ever used one of those cheap RC cars with forward/off/reverse and left/straight/right, you know what that plane is all about. It is not a proportional radio system. On off throttle & left straight or right.

It flys quite fast for it's size too. More of a diversion than anything else.

Thank you for the responses.

I was shown this advertisement because he knows that I do R/C airplanes
and he wanted my input if this was "junk" or " a good bang for the buck"

I know nothing about the small electrics. My gut feeling about the plane
in question was not good but I told him I would ask around. Which I have.

Thank you
Roby

If he's giving it to you, thank him and donate to your club for a door prize.[sm=idea.gif] If he bought it for himself, crack a big smile and say "SUCKER!"[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
