Default Aerobird Challenger Controll Questons!!!

I have a question about the controll of the Aerobird Challanger. With the single stick radio, does the throttle still controll the pitch as in lower lever HBZ modles, or is it only a throttle slide and the stick is reserved for pitch. I had flown sail planes for years and then got out of it. I am curious how dificult it will be to get used to using the throttle to controll pitch. Any input is greatly appreciated!!!

Of course it does, with throttle more than 1/2 or 2/3 the plane climbs, with less than that is descents. You can actually fly the plane as a 2 channel bird without using the elevator.

The Aerobird is a great and very easy to fly plane.

More precisely, throttle has an effect on pitch, but it no longer has absolute control over it when you move up to the Aerobird. You now have elevator/pitch control, which means you can use the power to not only climb, but to increase speed in level flight. You also have the ability to dive, whereas the Firebirds would only glide.

Thanks Matt and glaros. I should have been more specific as to what I was asking. Matt's "absolute control" answer is what I wanted to know.

Thanks again!!

Aerobird is a 3 channel Throttle/Elevator/Rudder plane. E/R on stick. T on slide.

I had a crash with my challanger and it appears as if the v tail is now bent out and does not have the sharp V shape. Will this effect the flight?

It is likely to impact it significantly. It can't be flat or you will not get rudder effect.
