Default repairing foam wing for firebird?

hi my son just crashed his new firebird snapping the wing in half whats the best method to fix it?.i was thinking of putting a small lenghth of 1/16 sheet of balsa underneath as a brace and using duck tape to hold it together.will this work or is there a better way?.i just ordered a new wing but id like to re use this one.plus i reckon it could happen again.it wasnt actually his fault i think a gust of whind caught it and she went into a spiral from 30 ft and he had no time to correct it!!.either that or he over steered her as he was turning could that have been the reason?.any help welcome thanks.also i was thinking of trying to make a wing from depron is it possible to bend the foam up at the ends and get it to stay there?so i can copy this wings shape?.

I would suggest using foam safe CA or 5 min. epoxy. Tooth picks are a good way to brace a broken wing. Push half of toothpick in one wing with CA, then put CA on broken wing half and exposed toothpicks and press into other half of wing. If you still think in needs more strength use packing tape on seam. I'd stay away from duct tape because of weight.

Good Luck

Another method is pieces of bamboo skewers across the break with hot glue gun. Not to be pretty, only strong
