Default ESC help

I have a GWS tigermoth that I have uprgraded with a 280 engine and an 7.4v 1600 mah poly battery. I was using the little ISC-50 speed controler for a long time before I hit the ground with the power on and it burned out. I bought the GWS GS-100 esc to replace the old one but it won't run the engine. The servos work fine but no power. I had the trottle trim set to the lowest position and tried all the steps on the box but it still won't work.

How do you match an ESC to the engine and battery?

Is the GS-100 not a good match for my application?

How can I get it to work?

Do you know for sure that your motor is good? Take your battery and plug it into your motor directly and see if power gets to it. In other words by pass the speedcontrol. If it does your throttle channel might be reversed. If no power gets to the motor your motor is bad.
