Default Charging from car lighter socket, how much is safe?

How much charging can I do before I need to worry about running my car's battery down? I will soon have an Aerobird Challenger and I drive a Honda Civic. I will probably get a few battery packs of 1100 mAh. Is this something I need to worry about? I would hate to get stuck at a remote flying field.

Thanks.

If you run the charger non-stop, its as if you had a 1 amp light (such as your dome light) turned on. If your car has a decent battery, you can go all day and never notice the decrease in available power for starting your car.

I have seen alot of flyers using the little jump start packs at the field. That saves the car battery. Charge it up the evening before and they use it all day for starting glow and gas planes. Don't see why one couldn't be used for charging. Some even have a 12v outlet.

See ya,
Rod

Thanks for the replies Leo and rchotrod. The jumpstart pack would be ideal, but I was just trying to get an idea of whether it would be a necessity or not. It sounds like for an hour or two of charging, it would be overkill to get a jumpstart pack. I'll spend the money on airplanes or parts instead.
