New Flyer
I've been wanting to fly for a while so i'm going to start. I want to know what is a good electric starter plane, under 200, and can be flown in a not so large area like the front yard. Are the slo-v or slow stick any good?

RE: New Flyer
Both the Slo-V and the Slow Stick are excellent starter airplanes. However, neither one can be flown in the front yard of an average home! I don't know of a good starter plane that can be flown in your front yard, unless your front yard is much, much larger than most. Perhaps there are some "toy" planes you could fly in your front yard, but that's about it.
As a beginner, it is especially important that your first flights take place in a large, wide open area. You don't want any trees, houses, cars, fences, or other obstructions to get in your way. As you become an experienced pilot, you may be able to fly in a small area. But when learning to fly, a large area is necessary -- something the size of a baseball field or soccer field.

RE: New Flyer
Here are some ideas.
The T-IFO is a trainer type indoor/outdoor slow flyer that could be flown in
that space.

The I.F.O. Aerobatic R/C Slowflyer - - Big brother to the T-IFO
With the right flight pack, it can hover on its prop and is almost
indestructable. You could sit on your back porch and fly this around your
kids.

A bunch of IFO Flight videos including one inside a 15X25' office

I have read that you can even pack this up in a suitcase and take it with you
on a trip. How cool is that?
INDOOR TYPE PLANES THAT MIGHT WORK
here are a few thoughts on Indoor planes that could be flown outside. It will
have to be dead calm to fly in that space. The turbulance coming off those
trees with any wind will be wicked..
