Default Best Battery Charger

I am looking to buy a good battery charger that I can use in the field and at home. I am just getting started in electrics and will be starting out with NiMh batteries. What options or features should I be looking for? Any recommendations?

Thanks for the information. I looked at the Duratrax website and did not see the 'ice' model you referred to. Do you know the model number? I also noticed this charge was only good for NiCd and NiMh batteries. Is there another charge that would be more versatile. Looking to the futuere a I amy want to try other types of batteries.

I agree, plus if you go to LiPo down the road they can handle that too.

The ICE by Duratrax will also charge Lipo. Be aware that all these chargers will require a large 12v power supply or car battery to use. They don't pug into a household AC outlet.

[8D] I agree the Triton is a real good charger. You can also buy a decent 12 volt AC to DC converter at Radio Shack for a bout 40 bucks - it has paid for itself many times over and over !!
Have FUN & be SAFE !!!!!!!!

I know this post is a little old, but I thought I would mention that the Vision Peak Ultra has a hardwired AC plug on it. It can plug into a wall outlet straight out of the box.
