Default I want to get a plane!

I'm 14 and I just got 75 bucks in my paypal account after selling my RC truck that I got bored of. I'm looking to get my first plane. I already have helis, a CX2 and a T-Rex 450SA. The helis need a lot of maintenence so I decided to get an easy little plane. The radio I use is a DX7.

Should I get a slow stick? It looks the best to me, and is pretty cheap, so i can get it RTF with the cash I have. Also I'm going to install a 9 gram micro video camera on it. Does this sound like a good plan?

I also have no clue what battery to get. Maybe a 8 cell for more power? Or less so I have more runtime?

Here is what I plan to get:

Thanks!

Default RE: I want to get a plane!

Can't go wrong with a Slow Stick. I used an Eflite Park 400 outrunner (740 Kv) and would use either a 2 or 3 cell LiPo. Brushed geared motor with NiMh won't give you long flight times, but the cost is reasonable for your constricted budget.

Default RE: I want to get a plane!

I have been teaching myself to fly with a Slow Stick for the last few months. I have been using the most inexpensive components I can , I use the Nicads from my nephews old Tyco trucks (9.6V 600m) and they are VERY heavy. It is working but I recomend much lighter components ( it was just a challenge to me) . I use an Electrifly C12 with BEC and have had no trouble. If you have any tail damage it can easily be repaired with sheet balsa ( I crash a lot) , and don't fly in the wind!!!!! ANY wind blows these things around like a balloon ,next the balance is critical since any tail heavy situation will make you loose control unexpectedly. Better to be nose heavy, but just a little. Drop me a PM for a photo of my tail design if needed. It is very satisfying to do it yerself .
