gell cell charger
I have a 7A gell cell battery supplied with charger.
The output of the charger is 12V d.c. 1A .
There were no instruction papers included so I cannot tell if there is a peak detector.
From flat or there about How long should I charge for?
At 1A output can I leave battery charging without fear of overcharging?

RE: gell cell charger
A gel cell is nothing more than a sealed lead-acid battery and does not have a peak drop off when fully charged.
Your 1 Amp charger should charge the 7 Amp battery in 7 hours, give or take a few minutes, if it's fully depleted.
You could probably get away with leaving the charger on for 8-10 hours, but much more than that you run the risk of the electrolyte beginning to boil and will cause the battery case to bulge, and later crack and start leaking.
Just treat the gel cell battery as you would any other lead acid type battery.

RE: gell cell charger
Many SLA chargers will cut off when the battery is fully charged, or switch over to a trickle charge mode. See if you can get the specs for your charger to see what it does.
