First Plane help, please!
Ok I want to try this again, hopefully third time is the charm.
I run electric boats so I am semi familiar with some things but a total plane noob.
This is my dads plane BTW, Im helping him get it sorted out.
He bought this ARF kit:
http://kangkeusa.com/Super_Kraft/astro_trainer_eb.htm
We need to pick out a proper motor, prop, radio gear and servo's.
I got some feedback here:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1028726
But since there in disagreement Im not sure where to go.
First plane, first time flier, first build, yadda yadda.
My dad is on a budget and we would prefer to order everything from www.hobbyking.com (Ive ordered there before).
If anyone with experience could aid us in selecting the proper equipment we would be thankful.

RE: First Plane help, please!
I would go with this motor combo that RAZ recommended. This would give you the most power for the dollar spent. Just remember that you can always back off the throttle. Fly at haft throttle to make your batteries last long.

Since this is your first plane make sure you get help from someone who knows how to fly. Next thing if you crash this plane I would go here and get their trainer plane combo. It's made out of EPP foam that doesn't break when you crash.

Looking at the website for hobby king
i would use the KD 36-28S Brushless Outrunner 1140Kv and 30 amp esc with 11.1 2200 mah battery and a 10X6 prop
This will be more power then needed but for a trainer that cant hurt.

Honestly I would get the motor and esc from HeadsUpRc, not only is he here in the states but its only $2.00 shipping on your ENTIRE order.
This motor "Blue wonder" http://www.headsuprc.com/servlet/the...lectric/Detail with this esc http://www.headsuprc.com/servlet/the...ushless/Detail and a 8x3.8sf prop would give alot of thrust and be verticle capable on 3S.
I've used motors from a lot of different places including HobbyKing and well you get what you pay for and their warranty service is ridiculous to say the least.
