Need Club
I know the odds are super slim but, does anyone know of a club near McCrory, Arkansas? Heck, does anyone even know where McCrory, Arkansas is? lol. It is 35 miles from any town in any direction and from what I've learned on the internet the nearest club is at least well over 60 miles from me. I'm hoping to find others in the area that fly and know of a place closer to me I can use. I've been away from the hobby for 18 years and although I have owned and flown a 1/4 scale Mustang in my prime I would really like having someone on a buddy box when I take the plunge again. It would also be nice to make new friends to fly with as well but. I'm not going to be able to drive the 60 or so miles everytime I want tio fly either. Heck, with gas prices like they are I'm not gonna drive far at all even to learn so, that's why hopefully I'll get lucky and someone on here will know something I don't about clubs or someone who can help in my neck of the woods. If not of course I'll have to go it alone. I just bought a new E-Flite T-34 Mentor to get me back into the hobby and I'm confident I can fly it but, as I said before, it would be nice to have that extra insurance on the ole buddy box.

RE: Need Club
Well, you're partially right. You're in the boonies.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ey/msn/lol.gif The AMA has a club listed, El Paso Country Fliers, at about 51 miles from you. Too bad you're so far from them. Good luck.

RE: Need Club
Hey Dave,
I understand about the distance thing. I need to drive about 40 miles to where I fly, same for club meetings. This is about 50 minutes driving time for me. We have a couple of guys who are farther, about 55 miles away. It may be to your benefit to make the trip to get started again. That buddy box thing can really help. Again, good luck. Tom |
RE: Need Club
Club search
http://www.modelaircraft.org/clubsearch.aspx 3 things to remember 1) the address given is probably not the location of the field. Our field is 1 mile from my house but the club address is 20 miles away. 2) Even if you find a club that is too far away, contact them. They may know of a club that is near you. 3) If there is no club in your area, consider starting one. |
RE: Need Club
Did you manage to find a club near you?
