Aerobird Tail Boom - Cheap!

I have sustained no direct hit to the tail area, and my tail boom is now really loose. I can move it, in and out of the fuselage about two inches. It rotates freely in the fuselage.

Now, the control surfaces don't move. I can hear the survos but the fishing line does not move.

How can you get inside the fuselage to fix this? It appears to be sealed, so I cannot split it, and look around inside.

Is this thing ready for the trash, or have you been able to fix yours?

Thanks!

RE: Aerobird Tail Boom - Cheap!

Hey Gary,

Yep, my boom has gone boom. Sounds like your boom became unglued (real cheesy glue job) and went into the board. Underneath the plane are four screws that hold in the circuit board. You can easily take it out but running the control wires and antenna is a pain. If you take it out just get some 20 lb fishing line to replace the control lines. It's much easier just to replace the lines than mess with getting it thru the microscopic hole. As for securing the boom, check out our club link with how I fixed it: http://www.mchenryparkflyers.com/Def...ChallengerBoom

Contact me with any questions.
