How do I reverse the motor direction?
I have an F-27 Stryker (a 480 pusher motor) and a P-51D (a 480 puller motor) and i'm trying to transfer the hardware from the P-51D to the Stryker because of a bad crash. Anyhow, everything works fine, however, the motor spins the wrong way. I need to convert it to a pusher, rather than a puller. Can anyone explain how to do this?

ORIGINAL: gsarg29 I have an F-27 Stryker (a 480 pusher motor) and a P-51D (a 480 puller motor) and i'm trying to transfer the hardware from the P-51D to the Stryker because of a bad crash. Anyhow, everything works fine, however, the motor spins the wrong way. I need to convert it to a pusher, rather than a puller. Can anyone explain how to do this? My suggestion is to spend some money and get a new 480 motor, wire it for reverse rotation and do a water breakin. If by some chance this is a brushless motor, just reverse any 2 leads. |
RE: How do I reverse the motor direction?
That did it. Thanks for your help.

Hey... what exactly does "water break-in" mean?... thanks

RE: How do I reverse the motor direction?
Means 'xactly what it says: Break-in in water. :)
Seriously, you dunk the motor in water, while it's running, and let it run there to break in the brushes. When it's done, you pull it out, dry it off, put ONE tiny drop of oil on each bushing, and use it. The important thing is to use a low voltage, like two D alkaline cells connected together. Don't use the main battery and ESC, or you will burn the brushes and damage the motor's performance. |
RE: How do I reverse the motor direction?
What about reversing a brushless motor, is it possible?
