Mini ultra stick nitro conversion
I have a mini ultra stick, that i would like to convert to nitro. I know its been done, i just don't have enough information, as far as what size engine, tank, maybe even a video of one flying. Thanks

I don't have the mini stick but I several planes in that size and a .10 engine should do just fine. A good tank size is 2-3oz. Keep the weight down and it should be well behaved.
Here is a "Topstick" that flies great on both Enya 09 or OS .10FSR;

RE: Mini ultra stick nitro conversion
There 's a couple of threads (3 or 4 years ago) in the 1/2a forum 'bout this conversion. One or two guys made a comment that a .10 made for a very boring flight. I would think that an Enya .09 would do well here. I haven't tried one (Enya .09) on the MUS, but had one on a Lil' Extra for awhile. Nearly the same size & weight plane, & the performance was quite acceptable. My guess is that the LA would be a bit shy of the Enya's grunt. I had a Cox Conquest in my MUS. (Would really get the blood pumping when that engine was at full song, while spining a 7x5) Believe that I had hs81 servos at the time. If I were to do it again, I'd probably use the HXT 900 units; a lot cheaper,($3 each), & plenty strong. .................... George K.

RE: Mini ultra stick nitro conversion
I did a MUS conversion a few years back. I started with an OS 10 FP and it did not have enough power to fly the way a MUS should fly. I replaced it with an OS .15 FP and it was a blast! The only problem I had was with the landing gear. It seemed almost impossible to not rip them off even in the softest of landings. I flew it for a handful of flights without landing gear and just did belly landings. I loved the way it flew and looked without the landing gear. I would do low passes 6 inches off the deck grinning from ear to ear. I need to get another one converted for the spring for sure!
