Ultra Sport 1000 to electric
 

Anybody have recommendations for converting a Great Plains Ultra Sport 1000 to electric motor, esc/ battery? What size motor and batteries to use for this model?

Power 160 motor, Castle 90 HV speed control, 10S 4500 mah batteries and 18x12 prop.

That being said, you are already starting off with a heavy airplane, that is why I recommend the relitivly small batteries. It should rip but for about 5 minutes. Make sure to do modifications to get cool air in and around the power components and even more important, provide a means to get the hot air out.
