OK Thanks. The reason I ask is If you are going to port the asm code over to C then I guess some people will want to edit the advance curve and will need to know the compiler used. Please what ever you do don't port it over to Atmel !! Thanks for doing this.

I'm going to try to put the advance curve in eeprom so that you won't have to recompile and flash the chip every time. You'll just have to write the eeprom with the new values. Hopefully that will make things easier for people.

I thought we might get some answers here.

So for those who might wonder what this is about, I contacted Howie who simply said he is using the same person who wrote Gompys code to do some work for him.

He has not built the ignition, nor does he have any plans to do so.

I did PM him. But it looks like he's only made 37 posts and hasn't been around since April of 2011.
I think Gompy had some problems with the code and also couldn't release the source.

It would be nice to put his computer interface program to use, but it looks like we'll have to write our own open source version.

UPDATE: I seem to have lost the ability to edit the first post.

John (gr8flyer55), sent me a working CDI. I believe that it corresponds to the schematics shown in the first post. It works great!

If can help out with the project please post there or email/PM me. We need electronics people to help with board/electronics design and putting schematics into Eagle and other popular layout formats, programmers to help work on the code, motor heads to help tell us what to do with the engines, writers to help with documentation, and webpage designers to help with the website (obviously). Many people have put a lot of time into this project and it already works very well, but there are a lot of things left to be done before it's ready for a beginner to just read a page and start working on it successfully.

I think you will find you can edit post only for a certain time after the initial posting.
