Laser 300v glow to gas conversion by Morris Mini Motors
For a couple of years or more I’ve been experimenting with petrol conversion of my Laser 240 and 300 vee twins. I ended up with a Cline regulator on each standard Laser carb, a Perry Oscillating Pump to supply both carbs, and each plug fired by its own ignition unit (Rcxel or Runtronic). Both engines ran well on petrol and my thread about my trials and tribulations is here:

On hearing about Morris Minimotors’ petrol conversions, ( http://www.morrisminimotors.com/ ) I gave him a call, and decided to send both my engines to him to fit Walbro carbs and the new Rcxel 90deg twin ignition. The first conversion is now running, and Morris sent me this Youtube link of his first test run of my 300V this last weekend .

It sure starts easily! The 23x10 prop is far larger than the 20x8 I intend to use, but 5300 on that prop is pretty impressive and will produce lots of waft. Morris has ordered more props in various smaller sizes for further testing.
The conversion, comprising timing rings, carb mounts and Walbro carbs is neat, compact and beautifully produced. The throttle arm link is inspired, whilst having the Walbro needles so readily accessible will ease tuning the engine if carb adjustment is required. The original Laser carb low end needle was always a pain to adjust during my petrol conversion experiments with the 240 and 300 as the radial mount gets in the way of a screwdriver. Morris also supplies the twin ignition unit and spark plugs of course.
My 240V will get the Morris treatment next, and he also has access to a 360V for conversion.
I'm really looking forward to mounting the 300 in my Jungmeister!
