The one from Roy is very small and very light, the one from rcignitions makes the engine complete.
The one from Roy I can put it everywhere, even if I use the engine into a boat or car.
The one from rcignition is handy for planes, with this backplate ignition it easy to fit the engine to the plane.
I like them, both builder have thinking about the application of the engine.

tightrope:
Roy's is 5 bucks cheaper at this time,Lighter and looks nice with 24-7 customer support
It does not appear that the price comparison is apples to apples. To your priced product additional items are required at additional charge.

CDI KIT FOR ZENOAH G-62 ENGINES: SS-9600-G62 MSRP $219.95
Introductory Special $189.95
COMPLETE BOLT ON CDI SYSTEM
SS-9600-CC IGNITION SYSTEM
HALL SWITCH WITH MOUNTING BRACKET(assembled)
LIGHT WEIGHT ROTOR WITH MAGNET(installed)
ALL HARDWARE NEEDED TO INSTALL COMPONENTS
For 24-7 customer support you must be his flying and duck hunting partner!!

Nice site SIS. Now if Terry would post on CH Ign. parts and costs for same setup....[8D]

All you newbies planning on getting into the G62 conversion business will have to do better than this....Price $150 mechanical advance, $175 electronic advance. You send the engine to me, you get a cup mount with the ignition inside, carb rotator block for straight shot to the servo, new light weight hub, test run engine...The weight is 4 1/2 lbs mechanical, 4 lbs electronic...And if the crank is bent it gets straightened at no extra charge..The engine can be made any reasonable length at the same time...
There is no valid comparison in price, guarantee(lifetime) and service... Lets compete
FWIW..This is not an "introductory" reduced price..It was $150 18 YEARS ago

CH Electronics QMI (quick mount ignition) for the G-45,62 or twins...$124.95. Includes electronics module, machined flywheel and sensor and bracket. The QMI uses the stock Zenoah coil(s) . Its a very good coil, so why buy anotherl?. If you have a special need for a seperate ignition set up, then its $179.95 for a QMI with a full CH ignition with a Bosch cap. If damaged the Bosch cap is user replaceable.
FWIW The CH ignition conversion for the Poulan 46 is $229.95. Includes Two piece twister intake (with pump port built in no external plumbing), machined flywheel, hub, timing bracket and a CH Syncro Spark ignition, we have been doing them for 3 years. Its a little pricey but that intake is a PIA to do.

In post #53 Mike asked Terry (TKG) to post his info and numbers. When he responds to Mike's query you want to complain about it ? You don't seem to mind pushing the S/S products (just like a commercial).

Thats right,I started this thread about my engine and what Im doing with it.Hey,Guess what.........
Im using a S&S ignition,It can only run with one ignition and that decision has already been made.Damn right Ill push and shove what I know to be a good product. This is not TV and you don't have to read this thread before the game comes on.Obviously your pushing the CH product or you would have never posted here.I have nothing against Terry or Ch ignitions.Im just not using there product,Im using Roy Sholl's Product.Have you used S&S or found the unit defective in any way.I did'nt think so.Enough said!!!!!!!!!![>:]

The 46 makes a great engine. Your setup looks nice. As for the thrust, you must be using Thrust HP. That program is WAY off. I built a ball bearing slide test stand. The best pull I get on the 46 is 22lbs with a Xoar 22x8. An APC was the lowest in the 22x8 props, but turned the fastest. The Xoar is a great prop and won't break the bank. It out pulled a Mejzlik CF prop. 22lbs of true thrust is a very respectable number for a 46cc engine, no matter what the brand

I will try to get a better way of checking the thrust, but with what Iv done to the carb with the micro screen and discharge tube work in the venturi the transition from idol to wide open is smooth and rapid.Iv also raised the exaust port a tad.The plane's total weight is only 16 lbs. with a 86" wingspan.should do torque rolls at half throttle or so.I mite also be getting one of your exhaust setups for the 46,if I don't get around to making a curved and tucked expansion pipe that I have in mind. You do sell the exaust seperatly?Im using a MasterAirscrew Scimitar Profile 20-10.I will switch up to a 22-8 or 22-6-10 after break'en.Thanks for the input Scott....

I used that program for a while too. A fish scale on the tail is more accurate.

Try the Xoar 22x8 prop. You will be amazed at how well it pulls. A MAS is not the greatest prop. A 22 6-10 must be a Zinger. I did test them as well and they turned the lowest numbers and the lowest pull on my 60 with a 22x10. Not all props are created equal APC is great in the smaller sizes like 18" and down. Just on the larger ones they start to slide. The 46 likes a good load. It is not a high revving engine. 6500-7500 rpm is optimal on it. That is were it really shines. It is capable of 13,000 rpm, but is ported more for torq at lower RPM.
