muffler question
I have a couple of 41cc engines running a Kiortz and a Zenoah. Making a muffler is going to be a pain. I want it to fit inside a cowl. Why not just make an aluminum adapter out of solid stock using a mill and lathe to use this muffler?

It is cheap as dirt and very light.
I could make up a glass pack type but I don't have flange making tools for aluminum tubing. I don't have the tubing. Bla bla bla, it just gets to be a logistical and cheapskate thing. This seems to be a very quick and dirty way to get rid of the bulky original muffler.

RE: muffler question
Anything will work, asssuming you can balance the volume of the can and the openings to atmosphere. Unfortunately, I'm not the one to assist in determining these for this size engine.

RE: muffler question
I tried tried it for fun. I made an aluminum adapter. I got one of these:

It looks like it will fit into what I am doing pretty well. The engine turns 6800 with a 20 x 10. That is about the same as what is did wiht the factory muffler minus the guts and a biggger exhaust opening. I guess I'll have to try it without a muffler and compare. With my adaper I can also use a straight pipe, or anything else 3/4" pipe thread.
