Being as the plane is designed for a glow engine and the Ryobi is rather long, you will have a very nose heavy plane unless you shorten the nose or take other measures to balance the plane.

Enjoy,

Jim

So as far as power & wing loading are concerned, other than weight, the Ryobi should fly it fine?

It will fly with gusto as far as a Sportsman's plane goes. You will love it for general pupose flying.

It is not going to be a 3D plane. The engine will make the plane too heavy for that.

Enjoy,

Jim

That's perfect. I'm not interested in 3D.

Did you get the Laser 200 for your Ryobi? If you can build it to 11 lb with the Ryobi, your cubic wing loading CWL = 15.2 which is high. I put a Ryobi 30 cc engine in a .90 sized plane that was about 744 sq in in area and the CWL was 15.0 and it flew.

A CWL of 7 is a floater so at 15, if your engine is not running right, you will struggle to take off. On my first flight I made it into the air but because the engine was not run-in, it sank and I belly-flopped her in. Broke the fuselage in half.

I glued her back together and popped a 20x8 APC trimmed to 19x8. She took off and flew well until flutter removed my left aileron. With the heavy wing loading, I could not keep her in the air.

I abandoned the project after it backfire and the flywheel went one direction and the propellar went the other. I do still have it but never messed with it any more. I bought a 78" Super Chipmunk to put it on and a few years ago I bought a DLE 30 to put on it but that has not been done either.
