The tail rotor could be binding. Also, after each adjustment to the 4-1 you need to unplug the battery and let it re-initalize for the changes to take effect.

I just went through this exact problem with my HB. Very frustrating to say the least. Long story short, like you I replaced the tail motor as I assumed it was failing and continued to have the same problem. After screwing around with the 4:1 etc, I put another new motor in as I had read somewhere someone else got a bad new motor. Low and behold problem solved! It seems to me that even a new tail motor functioning perfectly has just enough power to overcome the torque from the main motor at full throttle. So a small reduction in power results in the problem you are witnessing. Good Luck and let's hear what solves your problem.. Steve
