Honey Bee King-II ([link=http://www.china-magic3.com/category.php?cat=46]pictures[/link]), it is a good quality helicopter from Honey Bee Esky. [link=http://www.linknety.com/modevideos/demo/zoom.php?id=51]Flying video[/link]

RE: anyone with a Honey Bee King-II RTF ?
I have 4 of them,
I just upgrade the blades, tail rotor and the paddles and they are the easiest of all helis to fly.
Nothing wrong with the stock blades.
I just happened to have several F/C set here from the older HBK so I put them on. to fly You can't beat Jag Hobbies prices either.
That makes it even more fun

The HBK II has been my first step away from simple co-axial helicopters.
Got the training kit, thought I was progressing slowly, then after only a couple of batteries I can _NOT_ get the thing to stop spinning.
I have:
*Double checked gyro switch
*Checked operation of gyro/tail rotor servo by having holding aircraft and changing directions.
*Altered neutral position of tail rotor servo to add some more tail rotor thrust. Have tried numerous positions to add more thrust then went back the other way thinking perhaps I was stalling the tail rotor blades (is that possible on one of these?)
*Tightened the drive belt in case that was slipping causing a loss of thrust.
*Tightened the tail rotor grips. These seemed a little too loose, I thought that was causing a loss of thrust.
I'm stumped. If this bird leaves the ground no matter how it's adjusted, where the servo neutral is, whatever, it starts to yaw to the left. Full right tail rotor doesn't help. What gives? I was just getting to where I felt like I could really take off, and now it's unflyable.

Things to check are the belt (make sure not slipping off rollers), make the tail rotor blades snug, but don't crank down the bolts so they cannot be moved. They should be tightened like your main blades. And make sure your CG is centered and not tail heavy. Once you correct this and it flies straight, you can add more tail authority by installing trex 450 tail rotor blades. The tail can only move the pitch on the blades so much before it binds the loops on the holders.

RE: anyone with a Honey Bee King-II RTF ?
I will fly my HBK2 untill I can afford something bigger & better, then it's adios HBK2. Mine has NEVER flown like I see in the videos. Unstable as can be, when I can get it to hover it like hangs to the left from the rotor (but static balance looks good) and have had nothing but trouble getting the tail to work correctly. Although I'm a beginner, no one is going to convince me the videos I see of other beginners hovering are all because of good skill. I got a chopper that I'm sure is substandard out of the box. []

Yo Vegas....what do you think are the essentail upgrades, such as
brushless motor and ESC, carbon blades, head-holding gyro, aluminum
head and tail rotor parts (my description may not be exactly accurate)?
...which of these give the most bang for the buck and which are merely
nice for a price....also, do you think the carbon fibre upgraded model
of the HBKV2 is a good deal?..thanks, John H., Houston
