yea i think you'll be just fine with it. besides, what kind of silly idea is this dual Rx thing anyway an Rx should be good enough that it'll never need backup.

actually, a gov isn't really a "must have" item for nitro unless maybe you're doing some ridiculous 3D. i'm only using ch 7 to turn my stabilization system on/off in extreme emergencies.

Actually the dual RX is a master RX and a Remote RX tethered by wire to the master.
The remote RX is set at a different angle and location, eliminating possable dead air spots.
I have it on my DX6i. Whether it makes a big differance or not I do not know.
But hey it looks cool

heee, i like getting my ears tickled its good means less money to spend that i can spend elsewhere.
like an extra set of batteries and a nicer gyro,

what gyro's are you chaps raving about [8D] the best deal on a gyro over here i think is one of the align ones or the futaba gy401.

anyhow onto some king stuff, i managed a landing today that didnt result in something broken then went for flight 2
landed it a bit hard and for some reason the front of the cano got chewwed by the blades, nothing else was broken though
Phew.

Have tuned the -ve pitch down now. round -3 to stop it slamming down.

72 Mhz is fine if you don't have any issues. The reason for dual receivers on 2.4 GHz is it is more likely to get blocked or reflected. If the signal is lost momentarilly in a digital system like Spektrum, it can take several seconds for the receiver to lock back on to the transmitter. The extra receiver ensures that you always have a solid link in any orientation.

Chris: Thank you for the info on the 2.4 DSM systems.
In that case glad I have a dual RX.

No problem. I use single Rx AR6100's on my HBK2, HK450, and all my parkflyers but I wouldn't for a nitro plane or a heli bigger than a 450.

I read somewhere that the AR6100 Rx was for shorter range "line of sight" flying of "park fliers" and the AR6200 was for longer range control of bigger aircraft. The theory of the dual receivers in the AR6200 is just as you've stated. Even though I will never intentionally fly my helicopter out of my sight (the technical term for that is a crash I think!) - I use the AR6200 for my HBK2 because the Dx6i came with one. Now that I have to buy a new Spektrum Rx for my brand new CP Belt, I think the extra $30 for the AR6200 is worth it over the $50 price of a AR6100 - because no one wants to loose a helicopter because you lost signal, even for a moment, when a better Rx may not have! The price difference would pay for itself the first time you didn't crash...

My new CP Belt that I ordered on sale ($119) from U.S. Hobby Supply ( https://www.ushobbysupply.com/produc...roducts_id=351 ) on Thursday night arrived today (Saturday)! I will never get tired of the consistent, excellent customer service that Michael provides. Being only 29 miles away, I always get my order the next day after it is shipped - and you can't beat that!

Cheers,
Dave

For older Spektrum, yes. The Futaba systems resync almost as quickly as a PCM radio.

is that why Futaba FASST uses a single Rx?

I don't know the reasons behind that. The antennae on the FASST receivers are on leads about 4" long, so you can position them to avoid shadowing or polarity issues- that could be the reason, too.

I deal with Michael all the time, all my King2&3 parts are from USHS just cos he has such great service i dont mind waiting a bit longer.

I used to have a 7CH FASST system but had to ditch it because there was a fault in the radio and would have cost more than a new radio to fix. bit annoying really cos it was nicer than the spectrum IMO.

reciever was kinda big though, maybe theyre smaller now.

Fub stilll don't have the array of receiver choices that Spektrum does. They've expanded a lot in the last year, though, especially the smaller stuff.

Hi all,

I know this has been discussed before, but what makes the tail bob up and down. My hbk2 just started doing this.

Make sure the tail blades are 90 degrees to the main blades, if they are off this can cause bobbing.
Also check the tail gear box to see if the alignment pin has sheared off.
If so drill out the point where the pin was and put in a short FAT screw
You only want 1/8 to 3/16 inch showing inside the gear box.
This will go into the tail boom alignment hole andkeep the tail gear case properly aligned.
If you need a new case here is a link for you.

You are welcome.
I broke the pin off in my case a long time back.
Put in the screws still using it.

Very common is worn out dampers. Also, slower head speed developing as batteries age- the two are different sides of the same problem.

Hi Guys,

Is this thread dead?[] I can't believe that no one is flying the HBKII anymore. There must be some questions from the new guys.

There's a huge owners' thread on RCG that's still pretty popular.
