...I like Newcastle! Hehehe My girl went away for the weekend for Boy scout leader training. I could write freely without her breathing down the back of my neck and/or hammering me to get off the computer and get to bed....This would explain the lengthy, novel type entry for (possibly)fixing the gyro. Even if I went over board, I am sure it can help others start from scratch with the DX's...

Peace,

Z

p.s. Where in Cali do you reside?

Do you use the Auto sense gyro mode or Manual.

DX6i does not have this option to choose from. I am sorry!
...Hey, did you watch the Finless video on Telebee gyro set-up? If not, it is a great little vid/tool to help with creep and settings...You will have to go to Helifreak and find it in the Finless section...I recommend it to everyone that is unfamiliar with Gyro's.

Still waiting on my freebies... Anyone know of a way to check if they are going to honor your mail-in's?

So, what was the exact number of days, weeks, years that your freebie took to arrive on your doorstep counting from the day you mailed in the rebate form? Also, you were not counting the receiver that came in the box with the radio for a qualifying freebie were you? Those do not count...Hehehe

I have been waiting for 3 weeks and 4 days....As of 06/03/08

Regarding the Battery

I am getting 10.9 Volts for a full charge and about 2 hours of fiddle time on the TX. Is this about right?

i need some help. i am running out of room on my receiver for more servos.
The Gear channel is the only one left. i need to use it but i dont know how to turn the switch off.
If i have a servo plugged into the gear channel, it moves when i flick the switch.
Can anyone tell me how to stop this?

Thanks

You need to tell us what you are configuring. This channel is normally reserved for turning a Gyros mode from Rate to HH. If you are flying planes, it would be to lower and raise landing gear. You could do other things with the channel but you are not going to be able to assign a stick function to it if that is what you are trying to do?? Unless you take apart the radio, but then you would render some other function on the switch ...The DX6i is just what the number says, a 6 channel radio.

Please give us some more info..

Peace,

Z

How many extra did you buy? I only bought 1 extra, but I had to send the one that came with the radio in for service(3 brownouts and 2 blackouts). So, I am technically waiting for 2, one freebie and a replacement or upgraded Rx..

I bought one extra.
First LHS said:
Buy 1 Spektrum package that comes with a RX, get another RX free.
Buy a second one and get another one free.
Total=4 RX

The LHS I went to yesterday said 'no, you only get one for the second one.' What if I didnt buy a second one? Would I be exempt from the giveaway???
Total=3 RX

The rules stated that you get up to 2 free RX's. Me thinks I need to call em and find out.
Main reason I went for it is so I could sell the 2 AR 7000 and servos to comp my cost and get 2 AR 6000 and DX7 for a decent price of about $200.

Sigh..
Any Spektrum people frequent here that care to explain?

Update: So apparently the one that comes in the box with the TX does not count as one you would get for free. Would have been nice to know as I could have got the system cheaper. That was an $80 hit I was counting on.

hi is it possible to change the control stick inputs or outputs, eg i want the rudder stick to work as the aileron stick and visa versa,
I've been looking into this, as I'm in Australia where the standard is Mode 1 but I want a Mode 2 TX. Apparently, there's a hidden menu that allows you to have the computer change modes (still have to open up the back of the tx to swap the centering spring and ratchet, but no wiring changes). There's instructions at:

I received my freebie. It took them 4 weeks and 3 days. Could not believe the size of the box they sent this tiny little Rx in. I almost thought that they were honoring the fact that their bunk Rx made my heli crash, breaking spindles and blades...Could it be that the box is so big because they packed some blades and such in there....Nope, one Rx in a 12"x12"x 4" box...OVERKILL!!!

...They still owe me one from an upgrade.

Is there a DX6i setup guide for a Trex450?
I have a good working bind of a DX6 and a Trex 450.
I just bought a DX6i also and cannot seem to program it to function with my Trex 450. I have a successful match with my DX6 xmtr and want to use the DX6i as a trainer box. After tring to duplicate the DX6 setup to the DX6i, I find that the DX6i does not operate the heli properly. I can not get all the functions to duplicate.

I am not sure how to post a thread so please excuse me if I have not done this right.

thanks....

The manual says that all settings in both transmitters must be identical.
The DX6 has 3-point curves and the DX6i has 5-point curves. There are several other differences between them as well, so it may not be possible to get them "close enough" to buddy-box with.

Morning:
From what I can discern you must have 2 DX6i's, not a DX6 and a DX6i.

Have A Great Day
