HH Gyro for HBK2 ClearView Model!
Tonight I finally figured out how to modify one of the Honeybee King2 models for the ClearView Flight Simulator so that it has a HH gyro! I wrote the developer to ask how, since although they document the airplane model parameters pretty well in the ClearView flight manual - they do not include a specific discussion of the helicopter parameters. They wrote back and told me what to change in the model parameters to make a HH gyro, and then said they didn't bother to document the helicopter model parameters because they were "mostly self described". Ha! Anyway, it turns out not to be hard at all:
1) Make a copy of the helicopter model you want, by copying its folder (in the ClearView "models" folder) to something named differently.
2) Edit the "params.txt" file and change the "gyrotype" parameter value to zero (from what ever it was. The HBK2 model I started with originally had it as "2.0")
3) Change the "gyrogain" parameter to something over 50% - I used "77.5" just like my real HH gyro is set up with. (I had not done this step months ago when I was first trying to figure out how to make a model with a HH gyro, and never had any success - so this seems just as important as the gyrotype parameter)!
4) Save the file
5) Start ClearView and select the new helicopter model.
The HH gyro simulation works very nicely, and makes it fly a lot closer to my real helicopter! It is also easier to fly too!
Well, for those of you who have ClearView ( http://rcflightsim.com/download.html ), you should be able to use this same procedure to make a HH gyro version of what ever models you have. If anyone wants a copy of the Yellow HBK2 that I modified, please shoot me an e-mail. Enjoy!
Cheers,
Dave

RE: HH Gyro for HBK2 ClearView Model!
Thanks for the info. I too have Clearview and have been tinkering with some of the settings but could never seem to get it right.[sm=thumbs_up.gif]
