We'd be glad to have you come fly with us again!! The old field out by the Budwiser plant is gone!! But we are flying at the old Bryson City Airport. Go to the Forum page on our website -- see "Model Airplane Events" and we have directions to the field posted. Its only a 20min. drive from Sylva. Let me know if you need any help finding us. Talk to you soon!!! Ken

Default Directions to show

www.solomonrc.com
See the "In The News" section of this website for pics and more info on the show.
Here are the directions to the field. If you have access to mapquest.com: 67 Lakeview Trail / Bryson City NC 28713
If you dont have access to mapquest use your road atlas to get to Bryson City on Hwy 74 and get off on Bryson City exit 67 / if you're coming from the east you will turn right on Spring Street at the bottom of the ramp; and if you're coming from the west you will turn left on Spring Street at the bottom of the ramp / follow Spring Street past Burger King, McDonalds and Arbys / Continue straight through the first light, stay in the right lane to go through the next light / you will cross the river and train tracks / you will come to a flashing light, take a left at flashing light on Bryson Walk Rd. / Follow Bryson Walk Rd. to Lemons Branch Rd. which forks off to the right / Zig Zag up Lemons Branch / you will see airport gate on right at top of hill. I would say from the exit on 74 to the airport is no more than 2 1/2 miles. Ken Solomon CD [email protected] / 828-631-9277 (Always leave a message)

Let me know if this helps!! Thanks Ken

Hey Chris, We are having a funfly up in Boone on Oct 4th as well. If you don't have Giant scale then you could come up and fly with us on Saterday and then go to Bryson City on Sunday. That's what I'll be doing.

It's at the Watauga Aeromodelers field. It used to be the fair grounds for boone and there is a dirt oval race track where they used hold races for full scale cars. It is off of roby greene rd which is off of 421 between boone and deep gap. They have added a new 4 lane now that cuts off the part where roby green rd is. If you need better directions you can email me at [email protected] The email link on rcu doesn't work anymore and it won't let me use a hotmail account. You're very welcome to come on out there anytime. The funfly should have a pretty good turn out. It is a combo event between the boone club and the wilkesboro club.
