***Rascal 110 Fly-In***

Ok guys. Looks like we are good to go for the Rascal 110 Fly-In for 2012. The paperwork for the sanction is in the mail. The LHS's are selling out so it looks like this years event should be bigger and better than before. Check the Flyer for more details. I will have more information on our club website within the next few days (evansvillercclub.net). If you don't have a Rascal 110 now is the time to get one and come join in on all the fun.

You guys need to send the flier out to surounding clubs in a 100 mile radius. I just happened across this looking to see who is going to Toledo and seen it. I will try to come now that I seen it.
Thanks
Doug

Great. Another Rascal in the making and local at that. What are you putting on the business end? Gas, electric, or glow?

I'll be putting a 26cc gas engine. I had one setting around needing a plane and the Rascal looks real nice. Just got my FedEx shipping notice, should be here Wednesday.

I have a G-26 in mine and it is a great motor I feel for the plane. I have heard others putting in G-38 but that sure seems like too much over kill, but to each his own.

The Flyer has been updated to reflect the sanction number and "No Alcohol Permitted On ERCMAC Property". We have also changed this to a "Rascal 110/Bigbird" event as well. This is going to be a great event. Plenty of Rascal 110's headed this way in August.

If you have been thinking about coming to this event and just wasn't sure, well maybe this will help. Besides all the other raffle prices we will have at this event we are going to also raffle off a new Rascal 110. It will be the red and white version. We have already gotten people wanting to buy raffle tickets before the event. Don't ya just love it when a plan comes together

The raffle will be held Saturday afternoon. After 3:00 on Saturday and 1:00 on Sunday there will be open flying for anyone who wants to stay.

Alright guys, been away for awhile and ready to make this the first event I have attended in a long time. It has been over a year since I flew the "110", We have since pulled the skin off the old Sig and repaired some fatigued areas in the fuse and in the wings(a few years of hard flying). We found a few areas that needed to be beefed up and a few areas that where patched along the way that was overdue some TLC. After everything was repaired and structurally in good shape, We gave the old 110 a new look(different color), shaved a lot of weight by changing out the old nicad batteries, and installed something other than standards servos. The folks at Sig got some replacement parts in, windshield, side window's, cowling, and new decal sheets.....had to have them! Looking forward to the event guys. See you all soon and hope to see a bunch of Rascals at this event.

Zippi,
Haven't been away from the hobby entirely, been extremely busy getting our old house ready to sell and getting situated in the new. As far as pics of the old 110, I don't want to spoil you fun.........she is coming together and almost ready for a test flight.

Sounds good dude. Anybody coming with you? Chad Wilson was going to come and put on a noon time demo on Saturday with his Barnstormer bi-plane but he has now backed out. Schedual conflict. Just got my replacement muffler for my SYSSA 30cc so I'm headed out tomorrow for a test flight on my Rascal. Would go today but I work most Saturdays anymore [:@]

Better take off the weekend of the flyin! I think there is a handful of 110's headed your way and possibly some from Tennessee.
Eric

How about a roll call on who is attending this event?

Yeah, I'm taking vacation the Friday before and even the Monday after. I have'nt had two days off in a roll pretty much the whole summer. I'm going to have a blast. I lost count at 20 on the 110's that are coming plus, all the other planes that will be here. It's going to be big. There is a bigger thread going on rcgroups.

Went out this morning and flew my Rascal 110 with the new designed muffler from SYSSA. The muffler box is bigger than the old one so I thought it might require a little tuning. Everything checked out fine with no tuning and it stayed tight. The SYSSA 30cc running the VESS 18.5 X 5.5 prop will hover the Rascal with about 3 clicks of throttle remaining. It's getting stronger each time I take it out

Less than 2 weeks remaining until the Rascal 110 Fly-In. Get those 110's cleaned, tuned, and get ready to tell moma goodby for 2 days. This should be the biggest gathering of Rascal 110's ever plus all the other big planes that will be coming.

Got some flights in this past weekend with the old "110" in her new skin.......still got to adjust some settings in the radio and hopefully she will be back up to flying the way she used to! We should arrive early Saturday morning.
Zippi, is there gonna be any access to some electricity up and down the flightline for charging?

I don't think there will be anything running along the pit area but if you park close enough to one of the buildings you can plug in there. Bring a long extenion cord just in case. It's going to be busy here on Saturday.
