Kentucky Fall Classic
It's time to get ready for the 14th annual Kentucky Fall Classic Fly-in held in Lexington Kentucky September 14 - 17, 2017. This event is a giant scale event (80 mono planes - 60 inch and larger bi-planes) exceptions 70 inch and larger warbirds, any size turbine jets will be allowed to fly. We offer open flying on Thursday and Sunday, on these days any size or type plane will be allowed. The field features a large shelter, 700 X 50 feet of paved runway and a parallel grass runway. A large overfly area that will accommodate any size aircraft. We also have 8 - 30 amp camper hookups that are first come first served. These sites are $10.00 per night. If you don't need a hookup we have space for additional camping as well. Typical pilot count is 45 - 60. Spectators are invited to attend the event of Saturday and Sunday which features a noontime show. This year we are also offering a Horse Farm Tour for pilot and their guests. The tour is $30.00 per person. You will be picked up at the field and returned to the field after your tour. Please RSVP @ [email protected].
This event is a fundraiser for two local charities (Cardinal Hill Hospital and The Kids Cancer Alliance). We would appreciate your support of this event. If you haven't been to Lexington you are in for a big surprise. For more information contact Curtis Adams @ [email protected] or 859-421-0421. Keep watching more to come.
With the exception of camping this event is run by donations. Everything from food to pilots landing fee is by donation. Typical example of our donation to our charities. Last year we had net profit of approximately $2400.00. We gave our charities $2000.00 of this money. We are a 501 C3 organization so your donations are tax deductible.
