The Bomber Field facility is the dream-come-true of the great and late Mr. B. B. Weber, designer of the original facility layout. The organization is a nationally recognized club, mainly because of the annual B-17 Gathering and Scale Big Bird Fly-In. This event attracts modelers from all over the North American continent and Europe. Members of Bomber Field take pride each year in the planning, promotion, and performance of this and other equally important events. The events held at Bomber Field not only generate funds to maintain the property, but provide an opportunity for fellowship and information exchange within the modeling community.Runway: a 50’ x 700 ’ (15 x 214 meter) all-weather paved surface with taxi-ways. Approach is unobstructed from either end. Adjacent to the main runway is an 800’ (250 meter) grass runway. Steel fences are provided for pilot and spectator protection. Each flight station has side barrier fencing.

Waterway: for seaplanes there is a 100’ x 600’ x 3’ (30 x 200 meter pond 1 meter deep) located away from the main landing field.

Pit Area: a covered 30’ x 150’ (10 x 50 meter) pavilion with seven 4’ x 30’ (1.5 x 10m) tables provides convenience for assembly and maintenance of models. Also, 110-volt power outlets are installed and the entire pavilion area is well lighted for night activities.

Snack bar: an enclosed, air conditioned, and fully equipped 25’ x 20’ (6 x 5m) kitchen allows members to provide tasty delights during events. It also enables members to get out of the heat or cold during inclement weather.

Observation Deck: a 6’ x 150’ (2 x 50m) covered area, elevated over the pavilion, provides our visitors with an excellent view of all activities.

Transmitter Impound: an 18’ x 10’ (6 x 3m) air-conditioned room provides secure, climate controlled radio storage. A public address system is utilized during events to announce participants and special events.

Overnight Storage: 50’ x 100’ (18 x 30m) hangar is available for dry storage and charging of models during events and for member storage during weekends.
