RE: Hiss & Boink glider contest July 7 20102 nixa mo
Hi
Here is a report on or event. It was a fine hermal day low winds. We had 9 guys fly and a good spectator turn out.
Planning a SEPTEMBER glider event as well.
Here is the CD's report ....
On July the 7th 2012.......
The First Annual Hiss N Boink was held. Nine pilots endured the 90 plus heat, sweat and changing thermals.....For a first of its kind, the contest, was a bit tough for some of the pilots, as a few had to endure motors falling off, landing off the field, and a gambit of other problems. Several tents were put up, for a bit of welcomed shade. Food was provided with drinks, and they were really appreciated. Thanks much guys.
The actual contest comprised of three, four minute flights with a possible 100 point landing, Total possible score for a round was 330. We had one visitor, Steve, a member of the Bolivar club.... Steve did a great job of flying his Supra in trying conditions. James flew his Yard stick in his first contest and did a super job. Randy, flew a borrowed Gentle Lady and did very well considering conditions and the tired ole bird he was flying. Bill flew his Radian pro which worked well. Terry did an outstanding job, comming at the last minute with an untested Radian......very good Terry
Results and scores of pilots: 1. Bill 904
2. Steve 751
3. James 733
4. Randy 545
5. Terry 479
David, Les, Bruce and John were fliers also. Each had minor problems, that caused dnf,s. We are looking into having another contest in September, so stay tuned for it.
