RE: UK Shows
heres the pics from the hop farm in the order they come off my cam..
First a look down the flight line, nice big open site, luckily the wind stayed left to right all weekend
second my car and tent, ok this image was just for me, but some low life drunken scum[:@] decided to have a little laugh Saturday night that ended up scratching my roof, breaking the door mirror, letting my tent down leaving the inside soaked that night, my new camping kettle inside crushed and the tent holed where the kettle handle went through. so if your that scum you've got a few mad Cornishmen after you... not a good thing! [sm=punching.gif]
back to happier things, a nice calm Friday evening for a bit of flying
with... a glow in the dark Mugi, 30 LED's in this sucker!!!! 15' off the ground and there'd still be a glow below it.

RE: UK Shows
Cartman and Chris finally roll in after Chris's van blew up near Stonehenge. Barry Andrew and Terry in Barry's car had to turn around and come back to help. 100's of extra miles clocked up, but the real hero is coming soon...

RE: UK Shows
tutor or student?
ok, this seems to be working again...
That Mistral again. after a perfect seperation they decided to hook up again... ever seen a plane midair with it's self?
Jamie rarely repairs planes, he prefers to rip them to bits so other people can't fix it up.. from the look on Steves face you can clearly see he doesn't like wrecking his paint job
whos this in the smart shirt and hat?

Rimmer fast asleep.
Theres a bipe prophanging in there somewhere, much better weather for this on the Sunday, he's British you know.
A tail slide from Mr Curtis followed by what he calls a S2000, but i'd call a wall followed by a rolling recovery, very impressive

Will Curtis doing a Parachute! on Sunday I'd say he got this into a high alpha prophang[X(]
Dodging the flak in the firework slot, this is something not to miss, and if you fly in it, bring a nappy and bicycle clips!
Mikes son takes over camera duty while i fly and gets an explosion as it starts!
Jamie low on a bombing mission, just visible in the trees

RE: UK Shows
yer right, i thought once people saw we were in this firework slot they'd run a mile far from it, and we didn't hit one of them! sadly infact we didn't touch all weekend, got close, not bad going.
My 190 on a lowish pass
however, Barry! time and again super low passes.

RE: UK Shows
Mushroom cloud from a petrol bomb, i got close to one of these and had a cardboard box fly past me, how planes survive the blasts i don't know
the ATS West 36 powered Spitfire, this is QUICK!!! overtook all of us on 37's nosed in just past the town.
Lucky Bar Steward award goes to Cartman who survived a fast long downwind landing in the morning, then another deadstick sends him into the trees which had already shredded one plane.
when we got there not only was it not in the tree, not in the river, but it was in one bit!!!! just the tail came loose... thats a tough plane!

RE: UK Shows
No pics, I was going to record it with the 20 year old camara (BBC looking as one couple at Sandown put it)
Ok so its me, my dad and a clubmate Shah leaving my house in London Sudnay morning. Shah has the map in hand and off we goooooooooooo........miss the exit turn back [&:]
Onto the A228 and we get confused, there was like 3 different A228's but we dodged around and arrived at the car park and hour and 15 minutes from leaving. Got our tickets with BMFA discount and looked around the farm as we went to the actual show.
For me the show was pretty small but I bought more things there than other show.
First port of call was to go to every stand and compare prices, it was suprising how much price variation there was. One stand was selling Swallow 90's at "special show" prices yet it was more expensive than my LHS! Lots of bargains though, lead acid battery for 2.50 and one stand was selling popsicle sticks for £1 but another stand you could get 4 times as many for a pound as well!
Picked up tools mainly, no airplanes my mum had warned me though my dad was ready to buy me anything. Spotted a few small airplanes but those were sold before we could nab them.[:@]
Flying was top notch! The two Eurosports were fantastic as well as Will Curtis' Sukhoi display. The pyrotechnics slot was a load of laughs, I could swear some of those planes flew through the fire and smoke! [X(]
Great flying from Phil (and the funfighter team), Adam, Kane, Luke, Will Curtis and the many many other pilots. Not one slot was boring or tedious for me, always something different.
The walk back to the carpark was a bit of a mission w had 3 gallons of fuel to carry and trillions of second hand stuff my dad had bought from one of the tents. The foam almost snapped in the wind [&:]
Definately booking this show for next year! The ticket prices were just silly wih the BMFA membership (Shah forgot his so he borrwed my old one!).
Hopefully I might actually fly there next year, if I can get a B certificate...

RE: UK Shows
Shahid, was that you i saw talking to Luke?
It may have been, I had a blue Addidas rucksack and a khaki colour jacket.
Almost forgot to mention! The crowd line was ALOT closer to the actual flightline than loads of other shows! At first my dad was a bit worried but then he enjoyed it as well! You can get a really good view of the planes and the displays become alot more interesting.

RE: UK Shows
Its a shame those shots don't really do justice to the pyro and fun fighters slot. Good to see them though.
I counted over 10 planes zipping around like a swarm of angry bees....and the sooooo low passes. Really cool stuff, couldn't stop myself from laughing....1 or 2 going in was a foregone conclusion, and so made it funny (sorry chaps)....but how they all didn't come a cropper I don't know.
There was a bigger scale Stuka doing real vertical dives and climbs amongst the towers and fun fighters too....he was lucky a couple of times, narrowly missing the other fighters and the trees in the background.
....and what the heck were the two smaller gas turbines (team from Holland?)...the yellow and red/whit/blue one....I have never seen jets so up close and f-a-s-t....wowsers. That was a cracking slot too...with the yellow jet doing fast inverted flights the length of the field at only about 3ft off the deck.
