Pictures from the ECRC Fly-in in Goldsboro, NC May 13th
Yesterday I attended the ECRC fly-in at their field just outside of Goldsboro, NC. What a beautiful day for a fly-in, and a great field as well! Winds were light and right down the runway all day, and barely a cloud in the sky. 34 registered pilots and there were many aircraft flying, including warbirds, aerobats, racing planes, helicopters, foamies, electrics, and park flyers. The BBQ was fantastic and the event was very well-run by the organizers. I had a radio problem with my helicopter that caused me to put it in hard and break a couple parts, and I had a little too much fun with my fun-fly plane during an inverted deadstick pass down the runway, but other than those minor setbacks I had a blast. Looking forward to next year's fly-in. I'm hoping for a little more competition in the cool factor contest next year so start practicing guys! Pics and commentary to follow.

Here are some flightline shots. I arrived shortly before 9am and the field was already filling up!

Pic 1: Some of the local heli guys came out for the show. That's JB Turner with his MA X-Cell Graphite helicopter. JB is a great guy and helped spot and call for me during the event. Thanks JB!
Pic 2: The crew from Raleigh-Durham RC enjoying some shade. They put on quite a show with their aerobatic planes, Outlaws, and pylon racers.
Pic 3: The Outlaw fleet with a few foamies laying in the grass. That's my 3DFoamy.com Super Cap in white, what a great flying foamy!
Pic 4: Radio impound, BBQ Central, and PA stand. Thanks guys for hooking up the CD player to the PA system!

Warbird shots! Buzzing the runway at speed with large engines roaring is always a crowd pleaser. Sorry I missed getting any flight shots of the Dauntless, that was a beautiful bird! Hopefully next time I will.

This is the result of a Magun and Quickie racer colliding during a racing turn. The quickie hit behind the flightline but fortunately did not hit anyone or anything. The Magnum lost its wing and spiraled into the field beyond the runway. These are the last shots I got before leaving for the day. I didn't get any shots of the foamy flying afterward but that was a lot of fun. After the show ended a group of us went to Logan's Roadhouse in Goldsboro. The waitresses alone were worth the 300 mile roundtrip drive! Good times.

Looks like a good time had by all.
Could have come and then dropped by to see my Grandma for Mothers Day.
Need to keep that in mind for next year
