chris and cactus jack,

Looking forward to flying with you both. Glad to see you are able to bring some of the Tulsa group with you. We have the date of the Tulsa warbird fly-in on our new web-site. As soon as you have a title and flyer let me know and we will get it posted.

Thanks,

Hey guys can't wait for the event!! I hope to have two jets and my mustang this year. I just added thrust vectoring to my Eurofighter and hope to be able to put on a decent performance with it at the 2010 warbird fly-in. I'm keeping my second jet kind of hush hush[:-], but I've posted a partial picture of it below. Hopefully I can do the maiden on it if we have a break in the weather late february march.

Anyone interested in the Dave Platt T-28 build can go to thie site.  Thanks to Steve Keesey for making this available.  I hope to have the T-28 ready for the 2010 event.  But don't hold your breath.

mugenkidd,

Looks like you are going to need a second vector system. I see the makings of a predator dinosaur in the photos.
I have your videos of the vector test also from the field on test day. I will burn you a copy.

By the way Maser, thanks I was turning blue

Hello Steve,
Is the Chili Fly still a go? I'd be happy to make up a big ol pot of venison chili if you'd like. Just let me know. Sure looking forward to the warbirds event, I've been telling some of my classmates about it and I know a few are going to try and make it. I recently picked up a Hangar 9
P-51 I hope to have learned to fly by then. I will post some pics when I get it put together.

bhomer,

We are talking about the chili fly-in right now. I am going to the field today to check out the snow wet ground. More is coming, so we might cancel to prevent field damage due to sinking in the parking areas. I will let you know soon.

Get that P-51 together, and post some pics of you project here. Heck, start with a shot of the plane in the box first.
Thanks for spreading the word. Have you been to our Warbird web-site? www.warbirdsoverok.org
Be sure to vote on your choice of airplane on the site poll.

Hello All,
Here are a couple of pics of the beginning of some new fun. I hope to have this thing up and running and capable of flying it by the time the "WARBIRDSOVER OKLAHOMA" event is here. Now to most of you that wouldn't be a problem but I'm a newby so it will be a challenge. Heck I'm still learning the Nexstar.

bhomer,

Good second choice. With the leading edge slats, speed brakes, and flaps extended this airplane is as stable as your NexStar. If we get some flying weather between now and the WB2010 event we can meet at the field and put some recurrent time on the NexStar. I have flown with you so I can say this P-51 is going to be no problem for you. Once you have it together we can start putting some air time on it to.

Hey Guys, I really appreciate the offer to help me out and I will definitely take you both up on it. I got the P-51 put together today. Everything went great except the wiring harness that goes from the receiver to the ailerons was bad. I had to call Horizon Hobby again today (yesterday was for a bad clevis pin) they said they would send a new harness right out.

Chris, your plane does look good! What size engine is that? Did you build it from a kit? After I learn to fly better I'd like to try my hand at bulidinga plane from a kit.

Warbirdrcer.

We have a guy here that purchased a ARC P-51 from Top Flight and he is shortening the wings and covering it like Strega. Will he be able to fly it during your show? We have a lot of people interested in coming to your show and flying with you guys. I will try to get them to come on here and tell what they're bringing. Are you coming to Tulsa this week? I am back on dayshift and off jury duty so hopefully we can get together. I sent in our application to AMA the other day so I should know if we got the date we want soon.

bhomer,

Glad to hear you would like to build a kit. Not many do this anymore. Check out mine and Boyd Maser's build threads.

My AD-5 Skyraider is: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_91..._1/key_/tm.htm

Boyd Maser T-28: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_93...tm.htm#9325558

Now these are scratch builds, but to build is to build.

See you and Chris at the field.

Chris,

The answer for your friend is yes. This event is open to all aircraft ever used by the US Military in military or civil paint.
Anyhow, it would be hard for me to say no civil paint jobs when Brent Hisey opens my show each year with the real Miss America P-51 Mustang. Maybe he and Strega could make a Reno run for us. There is a local pilot who flys a 60 size Miss A every year, we will let them race.
Be sure to spread the word on this. Many aircraft like Cubs were used by the CAP flying the East and West coast looking for subs. Champs, WACOs, along with many others. Heck, each year we have a whole Cub gathering. If a person is unsure have them search the web for any military use of their aircraft. A friend is building a WACO SRE and we searched and found the USAAF IDed them as the UC-72.

I saw your thread on RCU for your Tulsa Warbird event scheduled September 11 & 12, 2010. When you get a flyer ready be sure to post one here so pilots can have all of the details for your event also.

Everyone, be sure to visit http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_93...tm.htm#9377819
for details on the Tulsa Glue Dobbers September 11 & 12 Warbird fly-in.
Lets group up a local team and share rides, trailers, hotel cost and all. This will help everyone and help more people to attend.

Brad,

yes its a kit its the goldberg annivesary cub kit 76.5"wingspan and the motor is a magnum .52 4 stroke. will be plenty of motor for the cub. And to all who are not aware hobby people is having a sell right now i picked up the .52 4 stroke for 80bucks thats right 80bucks and i know what u think its a cheap motor but your wrong i think magnums run just as well as os's or saito's and id rather spend the rest of my money on another plane. Brad give me a call sometime 426-5994.

The Oklahoma Museum Of Flying Skymaster L-39 will be flown during the fly-in. Is anyone else bringing jets to fly with Don Perry and I?
