Default New Enya 4-stroke diesel?

Received an email from Enya today, in which it is announced:

"[Revival the 4st al-chrome model]
The first 4st engine that ENYA METAL PRODUCTS released was AL-CHROME
specification.
This time, we return to the starting point and put 36-4C Al-CHRO TN and
diesel model 36-4CD Al-CHRO TN
on the market.
The lightness and smoothness unique to AL-CHRO differ from other 4st models.

It will be debut in middle of May."

Wow that is cool. If it wasn't for the horrid exchange rate between the Yen and the US Dollar they would be neat to get.

There was a rumor that Enya were having trouble with their AAC P/L assemblies. The Enya glow AAC wasn't available for quite a while.

May be they've fixed the problem.

A BIT OFF TOPIC but it would not surprise me if OS did a diesel again, It would likely be 2 strk much less hassel than 4 strk, they are into electric now too and allow them to hit the niche market to increase market share martin

I think OS would me more interested in Electric motors or gasoline engines than model diesel engines. but who knows what they really think about.
OS did come out with a smaller 30cc size gas engine more recently though.
So I expect them to have a 15cc to 20cc gas engine next.

Wonder if anyone had taken the plunge and ordered one?
Kinda strange to see a glow plug on a 'diesel'.

At the retail price of 36,750 Yen it converts to about $461 US dollars, at the sale price 35,000 yen it converts to about $429 US dollars. Then add shipping too. I wanted to get the Enya 41 diesel but I missed out on it too.
Heck, the Yen conversion rate is horrid, the nice little Enya 11CX-D converts to a price of about $174 US dollars too.
There were a couple/three Enya 41 diesel four stroke engines that appeared on Ebay and they sold for about 25% over the suggested retail price. One could have bought it direct from Enya and actually saved a little money.

G'day oily hand people.

I picked up an Enya 41 4CD on eBay in Australia about a year ago for about 3/4 of the then asking price. It had not been run. I have since run it and it ran and started better than I expected but the residue coming out from the exhaust was really dark which made me think I had too large a prop on it. Others suggested I needed a better Kero to make my fuel but at that stage, I had run out of ether. I recently managed to get several litres of ether and will have another play with it soon.

I think it is an "iron/steel" setup and not an AAC. I do have an AAC 45CX and it is a brilliant engine.

Recently I have bought a 40SSBB and a 45SSBB. The 40 is iron/steel and the 45 is ringed. Both have been in planes and run really well. The 40 is currently in a Sig Fazer with an 11 x 5 prop and the 45 is in a GP Big Stick 40 with an 11 x 6. I am really pleased with both of them.

Their AAC and ABC engines are great, I have a few of the .11CXD and Ultra CXD, and the .15SS. The fixed compression on the four stroke is a little worrying though...

I thought that the fixed compression might be a problem, but after playing around with my Drone engines, it hasn't been a problem. The trick is in finding a propeller that works well with the engine using a fixed compression.

Interestingly the oil content will change the comp for you too - just a few more drops per tank, there and the comps just right!

My only "adventure" with a 4 stroke is an asp/mag 52 with a lavona cell made by Greg think we get about 9000-9500 with a 12x6 and not the bucks outlay for the enya runs fine clatters like hell till it warms up and compression readjusted then fine martin

note he reworked the engine too to increase compression engine and all maybe spent about $250

my enyas CX 11D and 25D super

I can vouch for the quality of Greg's diesel 4-stroke conversions. He and I get together a few times a year to hang out, run engines, and chase the kids around. He puts a lot of thought into them and does the conversions the right way. Someday, I hope to have one-looking for a donor motor right now.

I have a TT .75 FS that Greg converted for me.

Ken Enya should consider retaining him as a consultant to take the ENYA four stroke diesels to the next level of performance and user friendliness.

Upon reflection I don't think my idea would work.

The engines would need a major re-design.

The plug / lanova cell orifice faces forward, which makes it impractical to convert the current ENYA four stroke engines to adjustable compression.

A pity nonetheless.

With the Enya four stroke diesel and the lanova cell do the following per Greg. Increase compression start the engine and let it warm up then stop the engine, Reduce compression and restart the engine. Jack

The spec should be read:
14~12 -> Diameter 14 to 12"
8~5 -> Pitch: 8 to 5"
