Help to identify diesel engine
Hello from Italy,
I've got a lot of glow engine with a couple of diesel ones as well; I know all of them except this little diesel engine in the pictures.
Does anyone can give me any information about?
Thanks in advance, regards from Italy
Luca

After a quick clean I can say that you were 100% right....it's a mills engine
Just wondering about the numbers on the crankcase (511 and 72); maybe 511 it's a serial number but 72? maybe a .72ccm version??
Thanks again for your help

The numbers on the lugs are simply a serial number-the number is read 'two digit' then 'three digit' -the two digit being the batch number, and the three digit number the individual number within that batch. There is NO way of dating the engine from the serial number=other than in a purely sequential fashion....ie a higher batch or individual engine number was manufactured later than a lower one...
Your engine is missing quite a lot of carburettor parts.....

Hello Chris,
thanks a lot for your explanation about the numbers on the lugs!
At last it should means that this engine is an orginal ones and a not a replica, am I correct about it?
Thanks again, regards
