I am building a PBXL. I am all Diesel!!! I have no intrest in smelly glow fuel. Does any body make a Diesel conversion head for a Norvel .25 or a MECOA .32? I am low on $$$ so a OS FX.25 is out.

Whats with the conversion fanatacism? Get a real diesel! They are far easier to run and are more durable. Aurora, MVVS, P.A.W., Sharma all make great purpose built engines in that size range. The best
though, is the out of production Merco .35 diesel. You can find them occasionally on Ebay.

Diesel Conversions ?
Maxnet,
I have a PAW .03 r/c, PAW .09 r/c and a PAW .15 r/c diesels. The .03 is pretty peppy but I have nothing to compare it to in its weight class. My .09 is a nice engine and it easliy powers a 33oz Leasure Amptique. It is no where close to my Davis converted OS FP .10 (8x3 @ 12,000 - vs- 8x4 @ 13,500). The .15 is pretty peppy (9x4 @ 12,000) but until I get a Davis conversion head for my new FOX .15 r/c I cannot compare it to anything. PAW makes a .19. Aurora, Sharma and Merco I do not know about them other than Indian diesels typically look like PAW knockoffs for less money. MVVS does not have a .25 - .32 sized diesel. PAW .29 and .35 do not look (on paper) appropiate for a PBXL.
If you know something that I don't, know then please tell me.

I have an ASP .32 with a Cairns Engineering diesel head (local Aussie deisel head / engine & exhaust specialist). It which goes like you-know-what and is very tractable. It has an OS .25 size twin needle carb. for hassle free operation. Low hours, good condition.
The Cairns head is the most advanced conversion head I have come across. It does not rely on combusition pressure to pull the contra piston up - it does this mechanically!
The contra piston is clamped in the head by the compression screw and cannot fall out.
Aussie engineering at it's best.
I would be happy to forward it to you for evaluation on a no obligation basis, if you don't like, just return it to me. I now fly .40 plus sized planes so I don't use it any more.
Send me an email / PM if you are interested.
