MVVS F2C Diesel
Here's a 1974 era MVVS 2.5cc F2C motor for sale on ebay.

Looks very nice but nothing like any MVVS production engine I've ever seen. Drum valve as well.

RE: MVVS F2C Diesel
There are some parts that for sure aren't original. At first the Needle Valve, that one on the picture is coming from an old russian Glow Engine "Polet" 5,6ccm.
Never ever has MVVS made an head where the mounting holes are destroyed while machining down the diameter of the head on the lathe :-)
Rear drum induction is possible, MVVS experimented with that in the past. I do have a 2.5ccm Glow with rear induction, but no drum as far as I remember..

Holm

I'd guess that it has a two part push/pull head similar to what was later done with Taipan Goldhead glows which had a similar crankcase construction.
The seller comes from Poland and has been putting up a lot of very interesting motors lately.

RE: MVVS F2C Diesel
..where on the picture you can see something that can do a "pull" on the head?
This thing is looking like a simple self made head with more cooling fins than the original Diesel Head from MVVS had.
The seller wrote something that the "Motor is tuned" in the item description.

Well, it would not surprise me to see a different needle valve on a engine. Usually one airplane crash breaks off the needle, so I can see someone replacing it. Now as to the head, yeah it does look like a custom made head. But I would suspect they turned it's diameter down more to fit a racing plane of some sort. Some of those planes have a narrow cowl with a tight fit around the engine's head.

Hi All,
Drum intake parts look to be from a Rhythm 2.5D. The needle valve also for that matter.
I wonder how it runs.

I have a Nelson diesel with that type of comp screw. I'd assumed that it's push/pull. I'll check later today and report back.

Are my eyes deceiving me Ray is it that backplate not screwed home for some reason?
I am sure that I can see the retaining bolts shaft between the rear cover and the crank case. Sign of a really poor fit and mix and match components?

I wonder if it has a gasket broken that side.
These unanswered questions are what make ebay auctions exciting for me.
For example these little things might be easily fixed yet put other buyers off allowing you to get a bargain.
On the otherhand if you ask he might answer online and everyone gets the information.
I'm not bidding, "I have enough engines"

I note well that the ad states nowhere is this a running workable engine though as the obvious description of -
"Rear exhaust , Drum valve Nelson type head Looks as new-very clean. Strong compression New Rossi Team Racing propeller as a bonus Sell as is "
tells me little that I don't already know.
Along with Derfly I smell a rat with that different backplate.
